Born James Timothy Pursey on a farm in Turners Lane, Hersham, Surrey, England on the 9th day of February 1955 (AQUA SHEEP 55 ). During his upbringing, with a mixture of Irish and Continental folk, Jimmy can remember wandering up and down the road staring at the traffic from about the age of three, and regular visits to the Walton cinema with his mother ( an usherette ) to see the latest Elizabeth Taylor or Jimmy Dean movie from his buggy in the back row.

Jimmy's first schools were Hersham House & Burhill Infants followed by Hersham Juniors. In 1967 he transferred to Ambleside Avenue and finally in 1970 ( now 15 ) to Rydens School. Jimmy's first job after leaving school was in a curtain shop in Walton High Street and then followed a succession of short term employment to gain his weekend "pocket money" for his favourite pastime of " Wine, Women & Song" ( obviously ).
In 1973 Jimmy was working in the Playhouse "Walton Hop" where Sham 69 was born ...... miming to "Glam " (Bay City Rollers were a favourite) records and the "Rolling Stones". In 1975 Sham 69 started playing Gigs as a real band, Politically aware with an unbiased sense of humour.
